the hormonal podcast

Many of our conversations around the reproductive body remain a mystery to most of the population. I've always been fascinated with reproductive health for that very reason- a field that continues to be at the face of humanity, yet remains incredibly underfunded and unexplored. After discovering the role of hormones and their impact on reproductive health, I asked myself, "why isn't there more about this?". I wanted the world to know what I knew, and what I loved, and so The Hormonal Podcast was born. It's time we redefined what it means to be "hormonal".

Listen to my TEDx Talk, The Power of Being 'Hormonal' from February 1st, 2025

The Hormonal Podcast

Through medicine, literature, history, law, and even business, the conversation around reproductive health is multifaceted– but it has never been hormonal. In fact, the word "hormonal", has been used to undermine women's health, despite us knowing what this truly means. Our perception of reproductive health remains skewed in one direction- how NOT to have a baby. But what about fertility? IVF? Reproductive disorders? Join Zarah Khondoker as she interviews leading experts in the field, to answer the very questions that define our health, and what it means to be "Hormonal".

My name is Zarah Khondoker and I am a Public Health student at Rutgers University. My journey with reproductive health has been diverse Reproductive health curriculums have advised preventative care, but never the origination of reproductive disorders. The health conversation has never addressed our lifestyle, and how actively the environment has impacted it. We are our hormones, which are at the core of what it means to be us. To understand humanity is to understand our bodies in a way previously not given to us. Through the stories of our hormones.
